Grammy-winner Sheryl Crow will give a 40-minute concert aboard a United Airlines flight from Chicago to Los Angeles on May 4th to launch partnership between the airline and Sony's new Connect Online Music Service. Similar to Apple's iTunes, about a half million songs will be available for download at 99 cents each, or $9.95 for a full album. Through a "Music for Miles" program, United frequent fliers can earn free music downloads through miles flown and earn air miles through downloads. Two related websites from Sony and United will be launched in the spring. Speaking of miles, Crow said she feels like she’s got quite a few in the world of rock and roll. HEAR AUDIO “I went on the road with different musicians and luckily I got to work with the full gambit of really well known musicians, and I learned a lot. I learned what I really wanted to be and what I really didn’t want to do. I got a really great world experience, a lot of exposure to different countries and different people, and certainly I was privy to how the music business works. So by the time I made it I felt like the old lady of rock and roll.” Crow will play an acoustic set for lucky fans and assorted invited guests, then following the landing in L.A., she’ll also perform a concert for a private party celebrating the launch of the new Sony digital Walkman.
